I don't know if your situation was malicious, but in case you don't know, you can call for your routing to brief it then call back when number one for a release time.

No I don't think it was malicious at all; just pilots with their heads up their... And no they tied up the airspace; the only way we could get out was to wait ten minutes for them or depart VFR, and I'm not the only one to experience the exact situation.

Unlikely. For one, VX only has 10 A319's, and they don't really fill the same niche as the E175. Acquiring VX would be a move to dilute their rather high exposure to the SEA market, and keep JetBlue from significantly outsizing them while providing a similar product. There could also be an opportunity here to intimidate the Alaska pilots and FA's. After their overwhelming success with QX pilots and FA's, it seems AAG may be looking for more cost cutting opportunities (such as McGee Air Services and maybe this).
Nonetheless, the main idea behind getting E175's was to replace Q400's on existing routes with a couple new routes sprinkled in. I doubt acquiring VX changes that substantially, if at all.
