More like a box of snickers. It took 17 people being called to get 8 to recall. I am signing a 2 year contract that will keep me from accepting recall this week so that will help out the others. good luck.

Horizon still has plans to shrink further. I believe the goal is 48 aircraft, according to the 1st quarter report we have 58 in the fleet, although around three of those are parked. Two months ago in recurrent I asked our V.P. of Operations about fleet plans and he estimated around 52 aircraft.

To compound the situation (when our pilots turn 65) we have very few that retire each year and low attrition to other airlines.

I hope it turns out good for all that are furloughed from Horizon. I just want to be based back home so bad but times a ticking and soon it will be pointless to make that lateral move

It doesn't seem that we will be recalling all pilots, or hiring for years by the looks of things. I can't imagine when we do hire someday that anyone will want to come here. The most junior Captain on the line is April 2000. That is pretty bad. I have been here almost six years. Things have changed dramatically since I came here. It doesn't seem like there are good changes on the way.

Come on qx. Upgrade is shorter than that. Lacey was hired after April, 2000. Sorry couldn't resist.

Now something good may come from the new schedules and CDO's that are coming. The union is quite optomistic about the result of the fatigue commitee. Time will tell.

Does anyone know if the returning furloughs had to sign training contracts again?

A friends friends friend says that there will be recalls soon and a class of 10-15 in october. All due to attrition. Hope it happens for ya'll. I am not going back if they call me and I should be in this recall group. Anyone else hear of this?

Well latest rumors are: We are going to 48 flying q400's, it is anybody's guess as to how many spares one needs to keep 48 q400's flying. Next is that they are going to have 4 q400s painted with an Alaska Express livery and they will be dedicated to Southeast Alaska flying routes out of SEA. Where they are getting 4 more q400s and will they first have to get rid of 4 rjs, who knows. According to the management types that I have talked to the southeast Alaska thing is part of the big non-disclosure thing they all have had to sign, but we all know how good they are at keeping secrets over at the puzzle palace.
They are offering VFRL for this next bid or two so I am not sure if they will be recalling an people in Oct.the recall rumor is one I haven't heard.
