Our health care structure is not in line with the norms of a market rate contract and I expect a HSA and a low deductible PPO plan.

That is absolutely true. A comparison between major carriers and regional carriers puts Jetblue employees almost at the bottom. Aside from achieving greater more affordable care the hope is also to lock in rates preventing jetblue from gouging its employees year over year. I do believe the airline is having a hard time separating the pilots as, you know, we're all equal.

They are negotiating for better healthcare. They have provided the company a pathway on healthcare. Those negotiations are ongoing.

Just adding this so it's clear. HSA plans are mandated to have a minimum $1300 deductible for an individual and $2600 for a family. So in order to have access to a HSA, you can't have low deductibles. This is the way it is under Obamacare. Hopefully any changes in the works by Congress improves this.

1. An ACP (account based plans) and
2. A contractual LDPPO plan.
Same with DALPA and others.
Jetblue only offers two ACPs
1. Green (HRA)
2. Blue (HSA)
IMO to be inline with the market place for pilots Jetblue should offer a additional plan (plus a completely different risk and cost structure): a LDPPO Plan. We asked before and was told to pound sand and now we are hopefully negotiating for one and a HMO.
And to be clear Obamacare has zero to do with the mandated limits of ACPs. ACP's were in place way before the ACA.

Some ACPs were available prior to Obamacare, Flex Spending Accounts being one of them. HSAs as we know them today are only accessible with HSA plans meeting the minimum deductibles I posted above. That came into place with Obamacare. So, yes, we have it to thank.
