Depends on the base but some.ive spoken with have been used at every opportunity this summer because it was a sh*t show.

190 reserve a year ago I averaged maybe 30-40 hours per month. Several times I didn't touch an airplane for a month at a time.

I had a line the last 2 months after a year and a half on reserve. My last last 3 months on reserve I flew 82, 92 and 87 hours, and that was with no pickups, rsa, vda, etc.

Good lord that's a lot of flying. I have never gotten over 50 on the 190.

Yea but you do a zillion legs. Airbus is mostly 1 takeoff and landing (hopefully :-)) per day.

True the 4 leggers are a killer, but a lot of my assignments have been 1 leg and a deadhead home.

Who's been on reserve for most of the year on the bus, curious to see the total block year to date.

Yes, the 4 leg days are brutal. Sounds like you have a good deal with the deadheads.

All I know is being junior in your seat this past summer was brutal. The toughest I've had in 7 years.

The 4 leg day trips on the 190 can be miserable after doing several of them in a row, but that's the cost of being home almost every night if you live in base. I'm debating on whether to go to the Airbus when my lock is up in one year...easier flying, but home much much less.

Come to LGB, we have the best of both worlds. Tons of 4 leg days, punctuated by 1 leg red eyes. Small price to pay to drive to work, though.

Yea, not being used a lot on reserve is like a paid vacation. It's nice to be able to take a long break from work outside of vacation, especially when the retarded operation really starts getting to me.
