Yeah, I got that. Again, if he doesn't mind working FLICA, he'll make more than he does now. Plus, maybe he was just tired of being in charge, who knows. But your original post made it seem like it was a colossal mistake. Far from it.

Not sure I’d do it but I understand his reasoning. I’ve flown with him he’s a solid guy. He’ll now be able to bid check airman lines and either never come to work and still get paid or pick up over top the trips he got bought off of and make double pay. He’ll definitely make more than he did as a 190 CA if he chooses to do that. I’m jealous.

Don’t know the guy personally, but is it possible he was never a 320 FO or that it’s been 12 years since he was on that jet? Friend of mine in the 800-ish range made the same move because he wanted to learn the jet first as an FO, even after being a JB Captain for 10 years. Food for thought...
