EPS & VDA = 190%. Goes up to 200% eventually.

RSA = 100% if you don't work, 150% if you are called. Goes up to 150%/175% by year's end.

Rumors from where? That’s the first I’ve heard of it. We just ran 2 newhire classes already this month. It would be pretty severe to furlough over 12% of our pilot group because of the temporary grounding of less than 5% of the fleet I would think. I could see them buying some used NG’s or even an airline to maintain growth. Who knows though.

That’s crystal ball territory, but they are already expanding the brand new training center to accomodate more sims.

RSA is reserve available? What about flying on a day off. It’s not a question of if you’re used. I mean you have some reserve days off and want to pick up a trip. Is that allowed, and if so, what does that pay. 100, 150, %

RSA Reserve Staffing Augmentation. It is an extra RSV short call shift you pick can pick up for 4:12 credit @ 150% pay (if you fly you get the greater credit @ 150%).

Reserves can technically pick up regular trips on your days off, but you don’t get any extra pay for it unless you break 75hr guarantee, which is pretty rare.

We will have a premium opentime window in the future where lineholders/reserves can go in an pick up trips for 150% and it would go above guarantee for RSV pilots.

Reserves and lineholders can also use VDA (Voluntary Day off Assignment) which pays 190% (soon to be 200%). This is just a placeholder that you can put in your schedule for CS to see, and if they get desperate they call people with VDA to assign trips.

Almost forgot, Reserves can also bid for trips the day prior. The trip doesn’t have to be on a RSV day, it can be a day on, day off, or combination. Pay for day off trips goes above guarantee. But I’ve never talked to anyone who has done it. This will disappear once the CBA is fully implemented I believe.

You are correct sir, thank you for catching my mistake. RSA is currently 150% whether or not we fly. Goes up as stipulated in the CBA.

Living in base is worth a lot more than money. It really is an individual choice, but the way I see it is if you can live in base, that is the deal maker or breaker.
it is really a big deal if you have a family with young ones. Being home during the time frame when your kids are growing and being there for the major events is worth far more than money.

So as far as I understood ... pilots are flowing from JB to SWA just for domicile ... if you happened to be in the JFK/BOS axe, JB is a better deal?
