Correct. If you pick up a trip over the same days/footprint you PTO’d you’ll automatically get your PTO returned to your bank. If it’s on a different day(s) then place VDA/RTF on those days you PTO’d to recoup. This only works if you can remain over 70 hours of credit without any PTO usage.

I think all it has to do is just touch a day, not cover the whole block of days.

You’re probably right. Just easier for me to explain it that way.

Everyone talking about using PTO to make their schedule better: what am I missing? We only get 6 hours a month   wtf can you do with that.

Also, I'm in the same situation as OP and am thankful for everyone's input as well.

Y’all are going about this the wrong way. Just burn all your PTO and then bang out sick. It’s a backwards way of bringing back UTS

Correct. There is no PTO debt.

Wait a few bids. The 190CA seat is moving quickly and you will probably be able to hold a line if you wait 6 months.

Definitely not going to hold a line in 6 months. I’m at 1.5 years and I’ve had only one month that I held a line with out any pre-credit (vacation, training, etc.). And that was with an “Award Pairings” command in my bid. No requests whatsoever.

Are you Boston based?

Yeah. I should’ve specified that. I’m not sure if I would hold a line in jfk.

I hope so. I’ll be at the two year mark in October (start of upgrade training). I don’t expect to be able to hold a line in July or August.
