Same goes for holidays, keep it clean and uncomplicated. “Happy holidays” works for most.
I don’t hesitate to say “Merry Christmas”. Everyone else has no problem displaying their preferences and beliefs, so why should I hide?

3 groups groups that deserve a month... African Americans, War Vets, and the Jewish...

3 groups that went through extreme hardships or sacrifice...

Everyone else gets a day, throw a flag on a pole or whatever they want

Identity politics and tribalism are great for this country. Even better when politicians and corporations try to profit off of it.

There aren’t enough months in the year for the amount of people that went through hardships. Genocide and persecution have been around for a long time, yet only certain people love to cry ‘why always me’ and play the victim card for their personal gain and benefit.

It sucks but time to move on.

No flag, no month.

Now if you want to raise a flag or dedicate a month ( including to the 3 groups listed above) to others that were oppressed that actually contributed to the US, how about the Chinese or the Irish?

Or does your tolerance have limits?

Those are 2 examples (but pretty much your entire paragraph is one giant example) of how your writing sounds like you are in middle school. I get it, it's the internet, but it's quite embarrassing frankly if you are actually an airline pilot. And it makes it hard to take any of the content you write seriously when it sounds like you were asleep for every english class after 5th grade and cannot coherently convey an opinion.
You're too cute. Nothing like a quality rebuttal with a material that has nothing to do with the subject. You must win every argument in your head when you counter with something that has nothing to do with the thread. Why are you a pilot again? Cause you were too smart to be a professor? Forgive me if I don't care about autofill on an airline pilot forum site. You probably don't have a ton of free time perusing the internet for grammar and spelling for anything else in life. You're probably a hoot to fly with. Sir yes sir. I know I know don't ever end a sentence with a preposition.

The point is that right now in the US, not at some historical juncture, calling homosexuals "disgusting" or saying that you don't "agree" with their lifestyle is considered socially acceptable. This isn't presently true for Jews or African Americans. In the 1960s American south, people would say these things about interracial relationships or blacks joining them at the lunch counter. People still say these things, but another pilot isn't going to tell you about it at work. Not true for opinions on LGBTQ people.

Why would it not be socially acceptable if I don’t agree with someone else’s lifestyle? Some people choose not to vaccinate their kids. I don’t agree with that lifestyle. Some people let their pitbull play with their toddlers. I don’t agree with that. Just because I don’t agree with someone else’s lifestyle, doesn’t mean I hate them or think they’re “disgusting.”

And this thread started because someone said the rainbow flag was outside OSC below the American flag. I personally think that spot is reserved for certain things like the state flag or the POW/MIA flag. Flags that serve the vast majority, not a small miniority. Otherwise, you’re promoting that group or lifestyle above all others. That’s fine in certain venues, but not on a pole below the American flag.
