I really don’t care if you plug it in or not. I’m more annoyed by the mentality of, “I unplugged it, but someone else can plug it back in. It’s their problem since they don’t bring their own like I do.” These days, it seems like most people are only concerned with themselves.

If 50ish percent (or more) of our guys brought their own headset, then sure, leave it unplugged. Of the guys I fly with, 90-95% use the aircraft headset. It’s WAY more likely that they’ll need to plug it back in, so I personally would plug it back in, especially if I unplugged it. It’s common courtesy. That’s my opinion and I’m done with this conversation. I probably won’t give it another thought... unless I fly after you I guess.

You’ll know once you find the headset unplugged and the particular smell left behind

I haven't either.

And..

You're so full of it. If the Captain tells you to plug the ship set back in you'll do it without hesitation. Stop lyin!

The training department has never taught to check the status of the headset. If someone did it was only technique as it’s not in the fcom. If you follow the fcom verbatim the first instance on a typical day an FO would notice a headset unplugged would be either calling for route clearance or push.

The parking brake preference is aimed more at heavies as they heat up more and cool much better with the parking brake off. Also zero chance to get the brakes to lock up on you with them off. I’ve seen it and it’s not a fun time for MX.

That’s funny. I would never tell an fo anything like that. They are adults and can take care of their own crap.

I have flown behind you before. Definitely a anal nozzle move.

Plug the effin' headset back in if you unplug it. It REALLY is that simple to respect your fellow pilots who have to scoot the seat back and stand up to reconnect the airplane headset after the CA calls for push. You disconnected it, YOU should put it back. Leave the cockpit as you found it, or better. Anything less is uncivilized.
