Yep! My reserve schedule since September has been unbelievable. My neighbor thought I got fired.
I’m on call tomorrow so I’m sure I just jinxed myself but I’m under 20 hours block YTD...
Summer scares me though. Last year was brutal.

So many options.
LCR and SCR fly about the same (on average) in most bases. Looking at any given DRO, it's usually within an hour or two of each other.

And now nobody is using pto for regular vacation this year.
I’m not really sure the company is prepared for that. We all spent last year earning our vacation for this year and it’s already paid for so to speak. Now all the pto is gonna be used for sickations this summer. Should be interesting.

I love RSV, even though I can hold a line (too much block, not enough pay to make it worth it). I can bid SCR or LCR. I can bid all 18 days in a string on LCR, or I can do pretty much whatever schedule I feel I need for the month. Bid 36 straight days on in Jan-Feb. Will enjoy 24 straight days off in Feb-Mar. I might bid a line someday, but it won't be much, and probably not or more than a month or two. Bid line one month, fly hard, then bid LCR next month and chillax.
So many options.

due to staffing. However that being said I believe the company has been very lucky with the weather.. and by very I mean there has been no winter storm to disrupt the system in any capacity. (Maybe the VDA budget will be shared next year in profit sharing).
I have heard of people bidding all their days in a row, to each their own with that. I’m not sure many people want to risk a phone call everyday. It seems to be a better deal with SCL vs LCR as they need to give you 30’s off somewhere, just hope that it’s at home and not in DTW. All that being said, I don’t like 4 and 5 day trips, but I’d rather take that than sit around waiting to go to work. I just don’t think this is the “normal”, I think had the weather been like it was
historically reserve would be worse than it has
been the last two months.

They still need to give you 30/168 for LCR because you’re always on duty. I was flying with a CA a few weeks ago who bids LCR in one block starting on a Fri or Sat then PTOs the first and last day. 30/168 gets him two more days off in the block so he ends up with 17-18 off a month working with majority weekend days off. According to him he’s had good luck avoiding the calls. YMMV but seemed like an ok plan to me. Late start on day one and get lucky with early release on last day and that brings you down more or less an extra day.
