LCR is for assigning trips farther out than SCR, right? It's all about having the ability to forecast pilot needs against flight needs. I have been given 30 hours off on day 5, and I have been given 30 hours off on day 8 or 10. It all boils down to what CS needs to fill the seat.

And while it's true that being available in 14 hours seems like an "advantage" to CS, in the past seven months, I have had only one callout near the 14-hour mark. Most are around 24-48 hours in advance,. I also enjoy the fact that CS doesn't call me (other than that one 14-hour callout), so I am not on the hook to respond within 15 minutes.

Thank you for your in-depth and succinct analysis of my understanding of LCR.

This is true, and I love this aspect of LCR.

Since this thread isn't limited to reserve only conversation.

Lineholders can't conduct trades without "minimum" 4 day reserves. Who voted for this garbage?

48hrs? How did that work? Call you as a LCR and tell you your next assignment was 48hrs away?

As I stated above, I have only been called by CS once since last August. It's just put on JC. I don't remember the exact maximum notification I have had so I used 48 as the max. But it is mostly over 24, certainly as much as 36-39 hours in advance, in my experience.

To give a specific example, I was taken from LCR to PRL at 1947 one day, and assigned a trip with a show time of 1748 two days later, for a total notice time of 45:59, or 46 hours. No phone call needed.

Why wouldn’t we vote for industry leading reserve rules (reserve grid)?

I want to know who decided they were going to color coat this garbage like before.

Industry.
Leading.

I’m calling bs. It wouldn’t be legal to give you that trip since it was before the dro for two days later.

You must be an outlier. I get called all the time, 2am-5am calls are the worst. True a lot of assignments come in the DRO, but I’d say it’s closer to 50/50 for me. Missed a call at 4 am once, woke up at 7am to find they had marked me advised when they left the voicemail. I guess they saved me a UTC, thanks?

Call whatever you wish. I have no reason to lie. And it wasn't assigned via the DRO.
