Speaking of grant money, that Sept 30th no-furlough requirement looks suspiciously close to the election. Just long enough that the big economic impact of tens of thousands of airline employees (and other industry employees) doesn't sour the economic data even worse before the election? I think so.

Wait for stimulus 2.0 (or will it be #4? #5?)

I wouldn’t be surprised to see no-furlough clauses extended through March 2021 with additional grant money.

I know Robin said he think it’s unlikely there would be a second stimulus for the Airlines. I guess see how bad things are when October rolls around.

Who do you think people are gonna trust to revive the economy? Trump has already proven he can get the economy soaring. Biden can barely string a coherent sentence together.

Whose watch are we currently under with the economy "soaring" to levels not seen since the Great Depression? People aren't going to forget that.

Trump is one and done.

BOTH of them can barely string a coherent sentence together. Trump just ads fillers like " best, biggest, brightest, etc", and repeated enough, 30% of the population fall for it.

Enough about politics and the belief that there was something left "in the tank" to "jack up " the economy...before the CVirus.

Stimulus 2.0, maybe? But it won't sit pretty with Joe Public when he watches "Inside Edition" and finds out that we're flying jets around with 10 people on board AND nobody is losing their jobs due to a government subsidy.

I could see 2.0 just covering the "essential" routes and the minimum payroll for a drastically reduced airline sector. It's gonna be a while before Joe thinks about traveling to MCO for a Disney vacation. ( we'll still have ACK for the well connected)

Gotta agree with Rabid. Just don't see how the public will allow another Airline stimulus. The Congress is actually debating to allow State's to go Bankrupt rather than offer them a bailout. Do you think the taxpayer will allow state municipal pension funds to be reorganized under bankruptcy while also allowing another round of Airline relief? Just don't think there is enough money to go around and don't think there is much more sympathy anymore for Airlines. All sectors are hurting, not just the travel industry and they all want Fed money.

IMHO the Airline industry will be left with remaining Cares Act loan option or private financing after Sept 30th. Let's just hope for ALL Airline employees there is a quick recovery and we get on with the economy.

yeah it just happened, there wasn’t some virus or anything. I hope people don’t forget a lot of stuff coming out of this, on both sides.

I doubt there will be a 2.0 it’s really going to depend on the confidence of the public. At least we went into this with a solid economy so that helps but we certainly aren’t going to see those numbers for a while.
