this was exactly my point. He says there’s com from the company but there are emails galore and live stream and videos all over full of info if you care to look.

cant wait for June recurrent. Blaaaaa

what do you mean no communication from the company? They just said it was closed to the 15th. Then there’s “literally” an email every day going over and over and over all the what they are doing.

I mean specific information regarding June bids for recurrent.
First OSC closed for “two weeks”, then longer as needed, and a subsequent need to rebid for training in June... then that was canceled. Now we’ve heard nothing regarding what’s happening next. Specifically, June monthly bidding opens in a week, and we still haven’t bid for June recurrent, and there’s no communication if that’s going to happen.
The daily “Run down” doesn’t touch on this.
Im just interested in whether or not they’re going to actually allow a bid for June recurrent, or if they’re going to violate the contract and somehow assign/bid recurrent after the monthly bid comes out, or if they are just going to let it go another month. Because if they do let it go another, my entire class dequals (which was said in a previous email to us from the company).

It's upsetting I know but it could go real bad real fast and then we are backed into a corner.

If the second spike is worse than the first, then people will avoid flying anyways. The slowdown in cases is just because we are in lockdown. Its a false sense of security. The goal has been achieved of not overwhelming the healthcare system beyond capacity, as was seen in Italy. Opening up could have have a range between bad-horrific if the infrastructure isnt there. If we keep the shutdown until a vaccine is developed, it'll be MadMax. Testing and antibody testing needs to increase 10 fold or more to do this properly. We are getting there despite what the media says. But not yet still.

Being able to test people before they do certain activities with near instant results is the only way out of this before we get a vaccine, which could take years and may not work like we think it will. This is all about consumer confidence.

We could gamble, open stuff up, overwhelm the health care system have a LARGE peak after the economic turmoil we have already had. This will back us into a corner with no way out except to shutdown everything again even more drastically.

One way is to wait until the hospitals are back to somewhat normal so the resultant increase in cases, once we open, has room to expand. When you have testing capability and room in your hospitals this gives you options.

You dont shoot that third approach down to mins if you wont have enough gas to bug out if you dont get in.

I bid for recurrent in June. It closes in three minutes. My guess is if you didn’t get the bid you’re not going.

I bid for June recurrent as well. But I was in a cancelled recurrent.

Interesting.
Myself and approximately 60 other FOs received an email stating the June bid was cancelled, and we would receive notice when it was reopened. Then, without notification, FLICA showed it reopened, yet we were unable to actually submit a bid. Now it says it’s closed and not published. Unless we received and FAA waiver, I and many other will be dequaling. June was already my grace month.

You can send in a PDR to alpa. The training rep is a great guy and he will get back to you.

I know you want answers but we kinda gotta roll with it right now man. Make sure you contact the cpo if you think you’ll dequal because it’s “joint responsibility” and you don’t want to have to fight for pay.

As far as DQing, reference Exemption 18511 in Comply. The Flica thing appears to be some solid BS, though.

Definitely agree with rolling with it during these crazy times. I basically wasted five weeks of my life getting an Airbus type and exposing myself to a jeopardy event for no reason. It took a few days to get over it, but life moves on....and hopefully this virus too sooner rather than later.

I have a good friend in the same situation. Just waiting for OE. All wasted. Terrible.
