Interesting times

It is planned to open in June with about 80 crews, so pretty small but I wouldn’t worry. It’s not going to disappear. But those Spiritbros living in the exotic bases west of BUF might want to get ready for a move.

Maybe they do just let Spirit go without a fight, but I doubt it.

- (Harrison Ford) "What's the problem, Patrick?"
- (Richard Crenna) "No problem from our point of view. I feel like -- what's that word when a lot of guys are after you?"
- (Harrison Ford) "wh0re?"
- (Richard Crenna) "Hmm -- I was thinking more -- debutante."

Frontier doesn't have deep pockets, but the company that owns them does. If they don't raise their offer, and ultimately let Spirit go to JB, the value of their Frontier holding goes down as Frontier will have a harder time competing against a combined JB+NK. But what that's worth to them I have no idea.

With the fewer/no restrictions and/or strings attached, this might actually happen.

How awful is your Reserve? And can you drop to Zero? And how often are you compensated in High Fives?

Well the strategy seems pretty clear. Either win the bid and buy an airline or worst case run the price way up on your competitor.
Alaska gonna get in on this action?
