LAX - HNL is one of the most competitive routes in the country with 6 airlines flying it and multiple widebodies.

I’m drawing attention to the fact that the company has for at least 5 years have promoted this LAX-Hawaii flying, as if it’s just around the corner only to never materialize.
It may be a very competitive route but that is not an excuse for being unethical and dishonest in stringing along the so many LAX pilots and prospective LAX pilots if it’s not ever going to come to fruition.

What you say could be and likely is true……….it is kind of irrelevant to my point however.

They don’t have enough mint aircraft. The amount received compared to expected is minute. I’m not here to defend them but it seems logical.

From what I’ve heard & read from reports and anecdotal evidence, Mint is a great product on those previous routes, so there should be no reason to expect that it wouldn’t be successful to Hawaii…

SkyWest-er here with an interview later this month. I live 15 minutes from LAX and only do locals, home every night. A couple JB jumpseaters have told me there's a decent amount of them on JB out of LAX. How senior do these go/ how realistic would it be to hold only locals?

I can not say this strongly enough. If you want to be based in LAX go to literally any other airline with a lax base.
JB should be the absolute bottom of your list.
the most junior FO holding day turns in LAX was a 2016 hire.
