I’m full of nothing but facts homie. And the chief pilots know (most anyway)—just ask them. So, what is your position that gives you access to the email every time someone resigns?

If you live in a common base, JetBlue, no doubt
You will be integrated DOH on either airline with the merge, so the seniority will be the same. So the question is do you want to spend the next 2 years on the NK pay scale or the JetBlue pay scale? Its not like NK will give you a better upgrade opportunity. So if the bases are the same, take the guaranteed higher pay at JetBlue while we work towards a JCBA in a few years.
If the merger falls apart, id rather be at JBlu anyways

number of total pilots
average age of each pilot group
career expectations at each carrier at DOH (typically upgrade times, but other factors come into play also)
fleet type makeups
existing CBA language on mergers/acquisitions
who is buying who, which brand survives
there are tons of things that go into a SLI….. DOH almost never happens anymore.
that said, the two airlines share a lot of synergy. Both are within 8 years of each other in age. That puts the pilot group closer to being able to do something closer to DOH than say Alaska and Virgin US did.
JetBlue has left seat going to new hires on one fleet type, Spirit has considerably longer on its one fleet type. That favors JetBlue on a carrier expectations calculation.
again, that’s a 30,000 foot fly by. The actual traning on this stuff is several full 8 hour days with the lawyers from national. Way too complicated for a simple APC forum post.

it hardly ever goes DOH. It’s usually a factored ratio based upon a number of factors much tooo lengthy to go into deeply. Attend a mergers training at ALPA national sometime for a more detailed review. Some Factors are:
number of total pilots
average age of each pilot group
career expectations at each carrier at DOH (typically upgrade times, but other factors come into play also)
fleet type makeups
existing CBA language on mergers/acquisitions
who is buying who, which brand survives

Left seat is going to new hires at JetBlue on the E190, which will be going away soon. Seems unfair to Spirit pilots to say we should only include the A320/A220 for SLI purposes, but oh by the way did you see how junior the 190CA upgrade went?
