I mean, if they don’t think we’ve “earned” competitive pay, then maybe I’ll re-consider my decision to stay and instead look towards pilot groups that have.
Come to think of it, that’s a truly bizarre position to take. Other companies have demonstrated an unwillingness to work sensibly and expeditiously with their pilots. We have an opportunity to show everyone that we’re different, an opportunity to demonstrate what a great place this company can be, and instead we wilfully choose to be not just stubborn but, the way I read that, overtly hostile. Pay aside, that’s a huge red flag to potential new hires! |

I hear that the hard part is getting people to show up for the interview. Word is no-shows are in the 60-80% range.
I wouldn’t recommend this airline as a career destination to anyone right now. Apply elsewhere, candidates. Somewhere the pilots have suffered sufficiently, perhaps. |

To rename a plane from a previous post: Yellow. Blue. In '22. Hut. (because it's always a fake:)) (:) added to reduce liability...I don't have a VPN) |

I’m not gonna post internal emails, but the gist of what the union said was that the company feels gains at other companies were “earned” after years of negotiating, and because we haven’t been negotiating that long, we haven’t “earned” commensurate gains. Having not seen any actual numbers, I’m not sure what that means exactly, but if that sentiment is accurate, it strikes me as unneccessarily counterproductive.

JCBA should be fun…… lol

I believe the sentiment is accurate. Just check the last "negotiate update" that the company sent. They said it there plain as day
Since this email is not internal and was sent to my private email account, I’m comfortable posting it. In fact, I think it’s important it is widely distributed. Here’s the meat: “Although the parties made some progress, we remain apart on pay and per diem. Management remains resistant to including profit sharing improvements as part of an agreement. The Association’s proposals take into account both ratified agreements and others where the terms have been made public, including those that have not ratified. Taken together, this approach most accurately captures the state and direction of the market for professional pilots. The industry trend is plain to see, and we intend to achieve an agreement that reflects the upward slope. Management has claimed that only properties that have been engaged in protracted, multi-year bargaining—“some…nearly four years past the amendable date of their current contract”—have “earned” the level of pay and benefits that is both evident and expected industry-wide. We flatly reject this premise.” |
