I think both the company and union understand what is at stake. A substandard contract, at best, means parking airplanes— at worst we all go find new jobs.

Rumor has it we have less than 300 apps on file…. And our mins are now 1500hrs. We are competing with everyone…. Including regionals, for pilots. They have to do something to attract people or we are going to park airplanes.

Also, you should talk to your reps. Every person I’ve talked to in the NC/ union is pretty happy. I don’t think the MEC will vote in anything without a snap up clause…..

not saying CK doesn’t deserve the criticism, he certainly does. But this is different all together.

Hopefully the 14th brings good news.

I agree with this. Also, it feels like the entire MEC and even the NC has a totally different energy than before. As you said, they know what’s at stake here. I have full confidence they won’t deliver a proposal to the pilot group that doesn’t properly reflect our value. Now whether the company agrees to that type of proposal is a different story.

Yeah, unimpressive for sure. Their new max captain is barely beyond our current rates. Oof.

Our MEC had better do a lot better than this. Nothing against the ULCC guys at all, but if we want to hire and retain, we have to be a lot closer to the big boys than this nonsense.

Sorry guys. Our negotiating committee always seems determined to bring up the rear and make excuses for lackluster bargaining.

Not even remotely close. If our union brings us anything like this, I’d expect a total overhaul of our MEC.

I haven't seen it mentioned it (unless I missed it), but I just found an email in my junk folder from the union that states they unanimously agreed to a $30/mo charge from all pilots starting Jan 2023 until mid next year for lawyers and other negotiation stuff. Is that accurate or did I misunderstand the email?
