My opinion only, but it appears both sides brought serious hardware to talk about serious things.

seemed like more serious conversations went on today but I’m not getting all happy or letting up until I see DL payrates or better.

And profit sharing. Otherwise, it’s not industry standard compensation.

I hope the good news from ALPA isn’t:
”The company wouldn’t go above 11%, and no profit sharing. That’s a huge gap from what the surveys said we needed to see in order to pass this deal to the pilot group for ratification. ALPA National has done an economic review of the company proposal and came to the same conclusion. 11% seriously undervalues our contribution to the company’s profitability. We deserve much more than 11%. Frankly, in this market, 11% an insult.” ”So today we’re proud to announce a home-run AIP for 12% plus the company agrees to consider profit sharing in 2024. Please vote YES for this outstanding contract extension that rewards our value as pilots and sets a strong precedent for our JCBA negotiations which we hope to begin next year. For once we did not let JetBlue do the old “Lucy pulling the football out from Charlie Brown” trick. No, this time we really showed them. Pleeeeeese vote YES. Love, ALPA.” |

I stand corrected then. Looking forward to seeing what the NK rates look like.

Hopefully we have the good sense to send back something that is below industry standard (Delta). Unfortunately we have a lot of Stockholm syndrome at spirit that may not go away until we start officially washing the yellow off.
We’ve been down this road before, it’s the only road in the map. |

We won’t….too many are brainwashed in this pilot group that CK and the gang knows what’s best for you, and that’s substandard, so just vote for it. And they will, while they SE taxi and sit in the plane with the APU off waiting for a bridge driver to show up for 20 min in FLL.
We’ve been down this road before, it’s the only road in the map. I think both the company and union understand what is at stake. A substandard contract, at best, means parking airplanes— at worst we all go find new jobs. Rumor has it we have less than 300 apps on file…. And our mins are now 1500hrs. We are competing with everyone…. Including regionals, for pilots. They have to do something to attract people or we are going to park airplanes. Also, you should talk to your reps. Every person I’ve talked to in the NC/ union is pretty happy. I don’t think the MEC will vote in anything without a snap up clause….. not saying CK doesn’t deserve the criticism, he certainly does. But this is different all together. Hopefully the 14th brings good news. |

I don’t believe that is true anymore.

Yes. The reps I talked to said the half day on the 7th was a turning point. Everyone brought the big guns. Think about it this way, since the last negotiation session, 2 airlines have AIP's. I don't know about Spirit's AIP, but Delta's is industry leading with United, AA, and Fedex not far behind. I fully expect us to have an AIP that is industry leading with a snap up clause by the 14th of December. |
