They are meeting today. Actually half a day so they might be done already.

I imagine today was a readjustment of expectations.

Here is the new market rate. Enjoy. See ya next week.

Hopefully a readjustment of expectations simultaneously reiterating the intention of declaring a labor dispute if an agreement isn’t reached after the next session. When you have leverage you play hardball!

Agreed, they should walk in there on the next session and throw our new ask on the table and tell them our ask will continue to adjust up as United and American AIPs are reached….. AND if mgt continues to stand firm on profit sharing then present them with two sets or payrates, The 1st in line with AK/DL with profit sharing and a 2nd set of rates with an additional appropriate premium to reflect lack of profit sharing to bring our total compensation package to parity with those other carriers. Their choice!

As much as I agree with everything you said here, I have very little faith this company is going to pay out accordingly. I’ve this sinking feeling the company is he(( bent on not paying us at market value and is willing to shrink instead. I’m in my 5th year, driving to work, side business, life is good, and now even I’m thinking about starting over…based on what the company does here. As much as I dread the thought of starting over anywhere.

It won’t just be shrink. Extinction is a real possibility, hopefully while being bought up by someone willing to pay market price for personnel.

IMHO..... management knows and understands this. If they didn't they wouldn't have agreed to start negotiations for a short term contract extension.

The biggest question is-- how long will the continue to bleed people before they hit the threshold to say "yes?" And.... how does the possibility (probability?) of a contract dispute change their math on moving a contract along.

I agree, I think they know they aren't in a position to play hardball it's just a matter of how much they want to drag their heels up to the imminent JCBA. It would make much for sense to play ball now on pay rates and we can hash everything else out later. I do like the proposals mentioned mentioning pay rates with and without profit sharing.

Hopefully we hear some information later today or tomorrow regarding how the meeting went today.

We have one but what is it is the question. Let’s hope they aren’t completely out of touch with where the industry is.

Sooooo we had a short negotiating session yesterday right? Days after the DL AIP, followed a few hours later by the Sprit AIP dropping. Could the lack of a NC Update email last night be a sign something is in the works?
