Default Merger approved

Shareholders green lighted, as expected. Now that we’re spending 3 or 4 billion, better save a few checks for the politicians for the rest of the way as you know it won’t happen unless a few get their hands greased.

Well, the email from the big cheese said it was "close", which surprised me, if true.

I would edit that post... That's an internal email, and they may not want the entire quote public.

When will the conclusion of the NEA trial happen? I would think they would want to know what the outcome of that is before approving the merger.

I interpreted that as “close on a house” type close. Like “close” on the deal. Not that they’re close to closing. I.e. We are not merged until we close. When reading between two commas, the end of the sentence after the second comma connects to the words before the first comma.

I read it as "close" to government approval. Not close to merging, which will take a long time.

Yeah, of course that’s what it means. Imagine it says “close at hand” for easier comprehension.

Shareholder approval is an important step, but didn’t expect any resistance here. The NEA lawsuit and then full merger approval from the govt will be crucial next steps.

The rest of that sentence give context as to what they meant. Competition continues between us and NK until DOJ approves and the deal is closed. Not that we are nearing gov approval.

On the other hand, union emails says we can start the merging process lol lol so I'd like to know what exactly can we do?
