Got it. You did something, once, at a strange time in the business (COVID) and some outside of the top 15 got drops. And the reserve grid at Spirit is somehow always green, junior pilots drop all their weekend and holiday trips, and the planes just get parked on weekends and holidays unless management wants to pay premium. Incredible! Must be why pilots leave Delta, UAL and FedEx to come to Spirit, it really does sound too good to be true!
It's odd that you had to drop EVERYTHING to zero before rebuilding. Does you FLICA not have a "swap" function? It's also odd how in most posts you say almost no one uses the FULL ZERO part of DTZ, yet somehow ZERO is critical, can't even be DT10, or DT15, must be ZERO, even though almost no one does that, according to you. And you can't acknowledge that having some kind of limit on the DTZ would push the green grid further down the seniority list for people in the middle or bottom to use before the grids finally go red during the seniority windows? Even other Spirit pilots acknowledge that the more junior guys have "to watch the grid" for when someone else picks up a trip, so they can drop something. That's an acknowledgement that the grids do go red. So instead of allowing the top guys to drop EVERYTHING, without limits, during the opening of the seniority windows, which turns that expensive new Green Grid to Red before it gets further down the list, why not have some limits, at least during the seniority windows, so that more of the group can benefit from that new Green Grid that WE ALL WILL PAY FOR with negotiating capital??? I made so much credit hustling premium x/y last two months that I often take all of January off. Oh that turn, well it was a four day, but one day of the weekend it touched was red, the other three green, so I swapped it out for a single day turn. See I couldn’t have done that with a 20-30-50 hour min credit limit. So yeah, I watch the grid. If it turns green I’ll dump it. If it doesn’t I’ll only have to burn a day’s worth of sick time or worst case scenario I go fly a turn. Maybe I’ll even shave. Meanwhile I’m listed all month for premium and have already turned down some calls because they weren’t juicy enough to get out of the pool. You know my buddy down the street at SWA makes wayyyyy more than my low tier self, but he sold his boat for lack of use. Anyways I’m going to fire up a pitcher of margaritas and crank some sh*tyy Jimmy Buffet just to annoy the crap out of my neighbors. Don’t work too hard out there, I’ll send you a postcard! |

One of my buddies is a junior lineholder in Vegas and was able to drop Christmas. Even it occasionally went green. |

Yeah, you still don’t get it. Even our most junior pilots are able to drop, they just work harder at it. It’s hard to imagine until you actually live it. I didn’t believe it either.

I’d be sitting at zero credit for January right now, if it wasn’t for just one little turn late in the month.

So tell us... How was your schedule so wide open the previous few months to get all the X/Y list? I'm gonna guess you dropped most of your schedule to be open for premium...
I get it, you don’t see value. Maybe you are a commuter who silently seethes at the guys who live in base and mop up all that sweet, sweet soft credit. You’d probably really like our commuter clause though… But you’re never really open minded on any topic you disagree with, are you? Poor blue, all these low tier underpaid Spirit pilots are soon to dilute your ranks and pollute all the culture with our substandard ideas. Geez, just imagine if I’m senior to you… |

Not going to get into the mud regarding the thread topic, but what's the down and dirty on your commuter clause?
Interested commuter. No limit to how many times. No you aren’t pay protected. |

Once again you are talking from ignorance. I had to drop to zero to get around the fact that the four day minimum between trips was keeping me from getting enough hours to consolidate. DTZ DOES NOT mean that only the top 5-10-15 will use it dominate the premium flying. Yeah, if enough trips get dropped AND NOT PICKED UP or if enough reserves get used FOR ANY REASON the grid will go red. So what? Tell me where that doesn’t happen.
I recently had to swap almost an entire monthly award, yet somehow I did it without DTZ, and that's with JB's shatty reserve grid. |

I'm sorry, you're still not being clear. Why did you have to drop EVERY trip, every hour, down to zero, before adding or swapping any other trip? Does your FLICA not have all the normal functionality?
