New bases / Expansion

The LAX and LAS situations may be interesting. NK actually flies more into and out of LAX than B6 does, but is based in LAS because (I was told) the parking is cheaper.

Combined - assuming not much overlap - they’d have a pretty decent sized operation out of either base and would probably just keep both rather than working any sort of displacement/consolidation. Makes me wonder though what that would do to seniority at LAS though. California marginal state income tax rate on $300k is 9.3%. Nevada income tax for all brackets is 0%. That’s a non trivial difference. Of course LAS doesn’t have CA’s nice sandy beaches. Sand up the ying-yang, but beaches not so much.

It’s not just the taxes. It’s the soft on crime government, ridiculous cost of living, homeless population, illegal immigration, no second amendment rights, and some more I’m probably forgetting. Yes, I lived there and the taxes are just the tip of the iceberg. But yea it’s beautiful. It’s like having a gorgeous girlfriend with a cold sore on her lip.

Yeah it’s always been a dream on mine to pay a millions dollars for a starter home out in San Bernardino and sit in traffic for two and a half hours to go anywhere whilst writing a fat income tax check to ol’ Gavin each year to hose down the tent city streets.
