JB will start to have a decent number of retirements soon and having younger Spirit pilots slotted in ahead of us means many of us will retire with much less relative seniority because of the SLI.
I’m not commenting on the overall benefit of the merger, just the mathematical reality that seems to get overlooked in these discussions when we have tunnel vision on relative seniority movement on the date of SLI without considering future ramifications.

That's why Delduh is the number 3 carrier there and I don't know when the last time you priced a ticket on SW but it ain't much if any cheaper than Delduh.
Let's see, we have a facility with unused gates and four runways prime for growth oooooor we got a cramped facility, where we will most likely have to give away gates and only two runways prime for meltdowns... which one do we try and grow...

Almost all JB pilots will see a RS increase, thus, theoretically, their QOL should improve. Also, ALL pilots will have the options to choose different bases they aren't currently able to bid, not just senior pilots. People need to stop being so hung up on DOH and look at how their RS looks post SLI.
That won't happen of course, so JB pilots will be pi$$ed because they see NK pilots hired after them with better seniority numbers and NK pilots will be pi$$ed because a vast majority of them will lose RS.
Therefore both pilot groups will be pi$$ed and thus provides for the perfect merger.

I saw The list you speak of. I'm pretty typical here, middleish seniority, and I went up a very small amount. It was almost not worth discussing, when this place was growing organically I used to see movement like what this merger brings every few months. After this final tiny bump, we will be stuck wherever we are more or less for decades as there will be essentially zero organic growth for years, and potential for shrinkage as "efficincies" are found and our recruitment/retention problems come to a head (giggity).
This merger is TERRIBLE for most B6 pilots. Even the most senior guys, who don't need to worry about stagnation, and who benefit from new lower COL bases still get hit with lower earnings thanks to the addition of lower self worth pilots to the voting pool.

So think of your current RS now, but also you can very easily calculate your future RS all the way to retirement currently. After this merger however, your current RS may go up slightly, but your future RS will be destroyed year after year, until retirement.
This simply MUST be included in the formulation of the new list. It would be a massive windfall for NK guys and a massive EPH YOU to the JB guys if it isn't.
