Default Crewmember Stock Purchase Plan

Curious how many of you take out a percentage each month to purchase JetBlue stock. Doing the full 10%? Turning around and dumping it right away?

The smart move is to dump it ASAP. I did it for years and held the stock like an idiot (still holding and deeply underwater 😭 )

I always max, and dump for the gain. Guys here do both, some dump, some hold.

So if I'm thinking about this correctly... if someone is making $200k, they can invest $20k and after dumping it, make $3000 (15%). After short term capital gains, you're making about $2000? Wondering if that's worth the opportunity cost of not getting to invest that $20k on your own. (Unless I'm missing something)

If you can make over 15% gains consistently over 6 months going it your own way power to you.

I am of the opinion that that is a fantastic guaranteed return and that the EV of holding an airline stock is negative.

Why not take your 20k -> 23k and then invest your 23k into your 15% gain machine.

With maths it's actually 17.65% and you can do up to 25k provided you make $250k. $4413 minus taxes is possible. So most likely $3000/year after taxes for less than 2 minutes of your time. I give them $12500 spread out over 6 months and they give me back $14706 twice a year.

That's not a bad deal. I guess the question to figure out is if it's better to put that $ into AAPL each month (as opposed to a free loan to Fidelity for 6 months). Thanks for your help.

It's not even debatable, max the CSPP, after 6 months sell, then reinvest the money into something else. You cannot consistently beat 17.65% return over 6 months. Well, vegabondpilotboxrocks will tell you he could do it, but certainly no one else could do that. And they don't even have your money for six months. Only the first months deposit. They have the sixth month deposit for a month.
