It's such a messed up method. Assume two airlines both serve a slot controlled airport, 50/50 market share, but no overlapping routes. That scenario would be allowed to merge? But not NK/B6...

WTF does any business model have to do with this???!!!!! Other than being airlines and not car dealers

So surely the government will now subsidize routes that are not profitable to Spirit, since those passengers need to be protected.... right???
