Long call is 14 hours, unless I missed somewthing?

I'm not sure I agree with this narrative of: "Blessing in disguise", "Management secretly didn't really want this", "They blocked the Froniter and Spirit merger, it was all part of Joanna and Robins clandestine plan..they are SO SMART!!!"
Because if that is the case, they wouldnt be appealing.

To the OP- Already left July 2023
When I got to B6, I was intending to retire there.
Resons: I'm a big picture guy, legacies are growing, retiring lots......B6 is shrinking and retiring few. Narrow body movement is quciker at legacies than B6 .........

I assurre there are more nuanced reasons for my depahchuh, if you'd like I can elaborate on another post.

JetBlue and Spirit (I.E. not just JetBlue) are appealing. In JetBlue’s case they are very likely joining the appeal because they are required to by “contract” in the original Acquisition agreement.

"Our merger agreement with Spirit remains in effect and we still have obligations under the agreement. ... This is a standard procedure, required under the merger agreement," JetBlue General Counsel Brandon Nelson said in a note to staff Friday.

Well if this in fact standard procedure as Mr.Nelson claims, Wall Street I guess overlooked that part of the fine print...because the reaction would indicate theta they were not expecting that to be the case.

Objection hearsay.

Yes JetBlue councel said this is standard procedure, I think largely because JetBlue wants to play a wait and see. They are not really quite sure how to spin it yet. They dont want to mess with that Wall Street reaction however illogical and innapropraite it was.

After the investor news today, my thoughts on retiring here have shifted. Not much confidence in how our superiors are communicating their “plans.” Other than the same song and dance of watching every dollar. I fear this will spill over to ALPA when it’s time set rates for the future and they’ll ask for pilot concessions to help costs short term (Help us now and we got you later). Deferring deliveries when we wanted airplanes now from NK is conflicting and every piece of “news” thereafter. Add on VILs etc.

Very fair.

Good luck to you in the future!

If all pilots made career altering decisions based on one failed merger and one invester call over a 40 yeaer career, we'd all be losing seniority on a quarterly basis. Sometimes you just have to buckle up and take the ride. In hindsight over a career, this won't even be a blip.
