Reserve Rules Comparison

If you all ruin reserve, so help me....
the one thing we must absolutely keep is that a reserve owns a trip as a lineholder once it's assigned. Being disrupted as a lineholder is of most importance.
if I get called out for a 1 day I'm gonna be gone for a 1 day. If I get called out for a 2 day I'm gone for 2 days. Outside of an irop im coming home when I'm supposed to. I'm not getting extended.

As we have it today: Day 1 1200-2200, Day 2 0800-1800
With a 12hr RAP: Day 1 1200-0000, Day 2 1000-2200
It is a dumb idea though and not worth fighting for. I just noticed in the contract comparison guide that a 12hr RAP was standard and we were the outlier with 10hrs. I think we are the outlier not because of JB being such nice guys, but seeing it as more flexibility for them.

This has effectively made scheduling assign open time to reserves that they choose to use two days in advance and often when you have been assigned short call, you are effectively a place holder in which they can assign you a trip that reports during your short call period with less than 18hrs notice, but often you can get an assignment say 12hrs prior to your report time on a short call assignment period.
If a SC is assigned and you are not used you now get 1hr pay over and above guarantee. Also you should only get 2 SC's per month unless every other reserve in your days available bucket has already had 2 SC's before you can get more up to the max of I believe 6 although I have never had that many and seldom even get two.

I don’t know the answer to that, but it’s basic rule of thumb. I’m available for a certain amount of days which I’m paid a certain amount of hours for. They get the choice whether to use me or the other guy. If I choose to work OVERTIME, I should be paid for that accordingly. In fact all over time should be time and a half like literally every other industry in the nation. Hell let me pick up extra reserve days without letting the line holders do it. Just make it fair.

I think one of the biggest things (not specific to reserve) is fixing the VDA system. It needs to send you to the bottom of the list once you get assigned a trip. As far as RSV goes, I would like to have LCL be always LCL. No conversions. If they want to convert you, they should be able to ask, but if you do not agree they cannot force you. And if you do agree to a conversion, it pays a mininum day on top of guarantee, regardless of whether you get a trip or not.
