Looks pretty good to me! Anybody got any news on JetBlue's version? Maybe the project got axed when they became JetRed?

Its not that they aren't affected by the laws of aerodynamics. Its just the FBW computers are better able to make the fine adjustments required to prevent things like uncontrollable dutch roll. But of course all that goes out the window if you start jamming on rudder pedals like a doofus.

Is it just me or do those winglets look just like the ones on the A330/340 family? Did they just adapt that technology to the A320 program?

That's what I thought when I first saw the pic. Now I found a second pic (again on airliners.net) of the same a/c as before with new winglets that have more of a 737-8 look to them (much better looking if you ask me). I wonder if this happens to be "Jetblue's" design?

I love dutch roll.

Nose gear steering by wire isn't a problem either.

Everyone knows Bernoulli's principle. Air on the top of the wing has less pressure than air on the bottom of the wing. But what happens when you head all the way down the wing to the end. The high pressure and the low pressure interact to form wingtip vorticies. A winglet is designed to take advantage of this "loss of energy" at the tips of the wing. But a winglet must be designed specifically for each aircraft. In fact, a winglet is NOT beneficial on many aircraft. One example is the 777.
