i find it incredibly IRONIC that the JB guys who, by their blind acceptance of everything l. ron neeleman farts, ****s, says, or otherwise spews, have helped lower the bar for the rest of us significantly. and here you are today, bemoaning the 190 payscales. what the **** did you expect??? YOU, and the rest of the "will fly for food" crowd willingly accepted sub-standard wages, benefits, employment, etc and now you weep and moan when the next logical step, the step you, yourselves, assured would happen, happens. you think the cheap-**** wages are going to be confined to the 190? you need to pinch yourselves awake.

too late for you guys now. you made the bed for the rest of us, now lie in it with us. and watch l.ron and his buddies start to bail over the next year. i have no clue who this "AL" guy is but i assure you, he is the first of many who will be deserting the JB ship in the months to come.

now you may want to watch "the philadelphia story" anyway; you guys are going to need a laugh pretty soon. and actually, it's more like 70 years old but still one of the best comedies ever.
Where do I even start...
There is no blind acceptance of Neeleman's or anybody else's "output" as you so delicately put it. I guess the guys for which you jerked gear, taught you well how to swallow Lorenzo's "output" after they crossed the line.
This is a 6 year airline. It takes time for organization. How many years before CO was organized? Not that it mattered to you. You hired on before ALPA? How DARE you!
You say we have lowered your bar. Why then do you pay union dues? Just say no. Can't? Why doesn't ALPA say no? Has ANY ALPA carrier said no in the last 10 years? You're saying WE should organize when you acknowledge your union is impotent? What's the point?

Now then;
Fact: You have low-paid commuter airlines feeding YOUR airline.
Fact: They have no chance of bidding for equipment on your seniority list.
Fact: They are flying YOUR routes, in YOUR colors, at a LOWER wage.

Fact: JB has an internal, lower-paid (but more than your feeder's) airline feeding JB.
Fact: 190 pilots are on the same seniority list as the higher-paid pilots.
Fact: In a year or two, they will be on the higher scale.

Gee, whiz, which pilots have a better deal? As if you cared about your feeder airlines...

FYI, Al is well over 60. He's our Senior D.O and a former CO pilot.
I have a few problems with AL, but he has earned his retirement. I wish him well.

I will check out the movie. The old, classic stuff has much to offer, thanks for the tip.

Question: Just for future forensic documentation, are you threatening me with a ball-peen hammer?

Has ANY ALPA carrier said no in the last 10 years?

Actually, Spirit HAS! Last year and this year. The company came to us for concessions, and we said NO!! Still here. And should be starting contract talks soon. Just got a contract raise Jan 31st. Just about 10% (depending on position, and longevity).
So we are trying to "raise the bar".
Automatique, you make good points. KillBill, you are working at my dream airline, but YOU guys DID take a 8% paycut. First year FO $30(not EVEN!) AT A "LEGACY"?
It is guys like you, who berate others for "lowering the bar", yet do not have the brass ones to say no when the company comes for it, that drive me nuts! Kudos to Delta, and NWA to think about striking if the contracts are thrown out. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!!
How come you guys didn't say anything about lower paying companys prior to 9-11? AND CAL is the lower paying "legacy", so maybe you too are lowering the bar?
Spirit has been around for 15 years, so why start the complaining now?

Speaking of irony.

It's rather ironic that a pilot from a scab airline that has led the way in bending over for pay and benefit cuts for years has taken the time to tell us how unfortunate we are.

EXACTLY. What was CO's pay compared with the other legacy's during the late 80s and early 90s. Thanks to the UAL guys for starting the bar up and finally to the DAL guys for at least three years for a 777 capt around 315/hr. Different world now, but don't need a CO guy telling anyone about the way things should be.

Amazing. A Continental pilot telling us how it should be. The airline that was a great success in the 90's thanks to low pay and union breaking. The airline that brought scabs back into ALPA. Go have some clams Bill and ****!!!!!

i'm not a scab, asswipe.

oh, and by that standard, EVERY airline is a scab airline cuz you all got 'em.

i know you guys are all on edge because you're finally starting to figure out that l. ron hasn't been exactly straight with you guys. i know it's tough losing money when you've been told all along how you guys are the future of the airlines and how you are going to rule the world, and how everyone is gonna be on 5-year contracts someday, and how all that stock in your "retirement" (snicker) is gonna make you rich!

you can all request recommendation letters from me when you finally go under.

There was a point (many posts ago) that you made cognizant arguements and brought up relevant points. That doesn't hold true any more. Seems now you are just looking for arguements. Why?
