Not saying it's not happening, but these guys TALK a lot and DO almost nothing.
But yes, if they do announce Europe, we are at least 18 months from starting that service, so in classic JB fashion, hiring will begin in 24 months...
Unless the problems with the NEO engine continue, then it will be further delayed. Add to that the standard JB delay (they can't do ANYTHING on-time, except cutting profit sharing and work rules) and you can add another 12 months to the 24 months. Plus 6 more months for hiring to begin because JB is always behind on hiring. Crystal clear? Did I miss anything?

They'll push back the Europe announcement like they did with the fleet review. I've heard there's hesitiation industry-wide in terms of whether the LR can do the mission it was built for consistently. That's why you're hearing Jetblue interested in the XLR...which is just a paper design now.

We have no idea. Honestly no one here does. I expect it’ll be awhile. But I’d expect small classes
