Oh no it's ok...because JB promised them they'd be in the next class when things get back to normal.

To me, "cancelled" means you don't have a job at IB, ever.
"Postponed" means come back when we open our doors again.

I get your point, said class members now have no pay. But isn't that a risk every single one of us have taken every single time we change jobs?

Not really. A mutually agreed upon start date should always be honored inside of 2 weeks, unless the”professional courtesy” 2 week notice we give employers goes away.

Meanwhile, at AMERICAN,

Outstanding job, American Airlines!!!

17 Mar class:

“While your orientation is suspended, your employment at American is not. We want to do the right thing by you and by your families, so we will be making you an American Airlines employee as of March 17. As an employee, you will receive a paycheck, have travel privileges and be eligible to enroll in our medical coverage. We will reschedule your orientation once life returns to normal. Renee, Dena, Don, or Teri will reach out to you tomorrow to address any questions you may have.”

JetBlue March 18th Class

Just to give my 2 cents. I Was scheduled for the March 18th class, and although I was informed of the two day postponement early last week. I was never called or sent an email saying anything about cancelling of the class or postponing UFN. Even after numerous attempts on Friday 13th, No one from JB responded to my requests for information about my class, email or phone. So I’m not sure about anyone else in the March 18th class, but I was never contacted. If I didn’t have friends already at JB that leaked me information, I’d still getting ready to go to school this week.

I was in the March 18th class. Other than the original message I received early last week relating to our 2 day delay of class, I have not been called or contacted by anyone from JB. Other than the auto email relating to new uniform requests. I tried emailing and calling on Friday 13th, absolutely no response from JB. If I didn’t have friends at JB leaking me info, I’d still assume I was attending class this week. Makes me question a lot of things now.

not true at all. Complete scumbag move by Jetblue. if I was leaving this place I’d give a days notice or when I’m walking in the door at a legacy.

No crap. Welcome to the American business. This is exactly why I do not drink company kool aid, no matter where I am. Almost every company I've been with, on indoc day 1 HR comes in and tells us all how we're a family, and we're in this together blah blah blah. This is a business transaction, not a charity.

I think it's fantastic that AA is making those guys employees, and maybe others will follow suit, but I definitely don't expect it. But maybe I'm just a salty pilot who doesn't trust the industry to help the guys on the street.

I found that they did contact me, their email was in the spam folder. I am very appreciative of their response.
