….which was written on what may as well have had the same value as toilet paper…well…except in 2020

The PEA was basically an agreement between said pilot and the company. You agreed to work on stated terms or you can take a hike, and said terms are subject to change exclusively at the company’s option when ever they felt like it.

Don't forget the lovely 5yr term with the auto renew, unless the company sends you a certified letter stating they won't renew it.

1. That's what I meant by a "document the company controlled".

2. I don't think PS was in the PEA.

3. Either way, JB pilots were dumb, and had to learn the hard way why professional pilots are all union.

Tell them if at will employment is damn good…….Go apply to SkyWest I heard they are hiring. It bothers me so much that we have so many who lust after the Rat lifestyle.

We did in a way. It was taken after the union came on property, but before CBA 1.0 was ratified. During this time the company us prohibited from changing the terms or conditions of employment. This is refered to as "status quo". Compensation is very much included in this protection.

When they cut our profit sharing, they immediatly cut our pay by around 15% or so. The union could have very convinsingly made a case that this violated status quo, and had it reversed. Of course B6ALPA won't even defend us against clear, open, black and white violations of our CBA *cough* NEA *cough*.

To my knowlege zero fight was put forth against the profit sharing cut. (Or any of the other negative QOL changes enacted during this period, like positive check in, or unneccesary post flight walk arounds.) So yes, we gave it away.

But if we saw the arbitration through… we might loose, so let’s start the arbitration process then give up after a year of big talk… makes perfect sense!

If ALPA avoids arbitration when there’s a clear violation of the CBA, under what conditions will they ever trust the system to rule in our favor?

My point exactly, that’s why new leadership is required

How does new leadership help when the “new” leaders are the former voting members under the old leadership? Asking for a friend.
