That's not true in the least. Tons of people are getting hired without PIC.

This is 100 %incorrect .... The hiring mins do change as the apps on file change . The more resumes we get with pic the more selective we can be . There is a lot that goes into the selection process.

That being said, last year at Obap's career fair in Atanta the going number was about 5000 TT, less than that they weren't really interested unless your resume said something along the lines or pro check airmen or APD etc.

Some got called with less and some got called with much more . A lot goes into it. PIC is not a game changer here at Jetblue with the big three hiring , I have heard numerous stories of guys being told some harsh thanks but no thanks at Woman in Aviation , not sure why, maybe cause 99 percent of people there are dudes and most of the time Jetblue tries to bring woman recruiters.

I wil say this, job fairs are a great way to get in with Jetblue , sure if you have someone on the inside even better , but job fairs have been the number one way most of my pals got an interview. The crappy part is we only attend 3 or so a year . Obap is a great one not to miss.

For those wanting it , forget what this message board says , don't listen to the so called number people say you need to have on your resume, attend the job fairs and go talk to the recruiter regardless of what your cousins sister dog told you, then when the recruiter tells you to come back when you have more TT , come back again . It will only raise your odds of getting a call.

Good luck to those trying .

Are you involved in the interview process? I believe Southerner is but I may be mistaken.

Is this a new change? I know several folks here who don't have 1,000PIC

It's not a hard requirement, but without someone pulling hard for you it's difficult to get an interview without it now. It changed March/April of 2014. Again, not a turbine requirement. Just straight PIC.

Just to clarify, by "pulling for you," do you mean internal rec, Blue Dart, or something else?

Typically, what could bump someone out of phase 2?

Does anybody know the aircraft/base drop this week for the June class?

I'm not directly involved with recruitment, but I have dinner with guys who are every other week. It is certainly possible that in the last application window the 1,000 PIC requirement was relaxed. But I know for a fact that 1,000 PIC is strongly preferred.

Like some of the other guys said, no matter what your time is, go to every job fair you can. When you go, dress professionally, and know as much about the company as you can. It isn't an interview, but it can limit your ability to get one. I recently recommended a guy, and when he talked to a recruiter at a career fair, the guy couldn't answer very basic questions about JetBlue, and he was not given an interview date as a result. Don't be that guy.

Strong internal recommendation or Blue Dart. If you can get to know a chief pilot or check airman, that will help a lot.
