I hope we change our poor ways and get with the program as we are going to lose good guys to other airlines when hiring ramps up in the spring.

In other news, maybe we will be called Southwest in a few years and all is solved (seed planted).

Good luck to those who are trying to get here. Bring your coloring book and crayons to the interview; you'll understand later.
Fully agree with your assessment. but not the swa thingy...

FWIW: I used a blue dart about a year ago. It took about 90days to work it's way down the line. Turned it in in dec. Call went out in Mar. Interviewed in Apr. Called for class in Nov. Accepted Class at AA two weeks earlier. O'well.

when I say Owell, I mean Owell jetblue's loss...

I don't blame him in the least. In fact I encouraged it. He was going to come to jb because he didn't want to ruin my "reputation". After a good laugh I said I'd never speak to him again if he turned down AA for jb right now.

He'll be just as happy in MIA as FLL base, and spend the last 20 years of his career above the 50% seniority mark.

Don't disagree that we loose great people this way, but personally I think it's intentional. They don't want to pay to train guys who are going to leave as soon as Delta or United calls, so they make you spend time in the pool sweating it out. If you want to work for JetBlue, you'll stay in the pool, if you want to work for anyone, you'll try and get out.

Intelligent pilots consider all the possible options when placed in a holding pattern. Making them hold longer to "prove they want to work here" only causes more to divert from their original plan and find shelter elsewhere.

Honestly I believe we have the opposite going on. Our attrition has been mainely with new hires, 1-2 years in, and that's quoted by Bart. I believe the guys they are targeting scream legacy, they just don't know it.

Agreed, sitting in holding and something else comes up, no brainer. Already have the job you'll think twice.

Seriously at the risk of being TOTD, and I see it here all the time:

Loose: how you like your women when first dating.

Lose/loss: Opposite of finding/winning

You should lose a woman loose at the first date
