As far as being amazing here, I'm happy working here. There are things that need work, and guess what, we voted in ALPA and are negotiating a contract that will fix those things. I've spoken several times with NC members, and I'm pleased with what they say.

Am I a bitter jerk who hates my life? No, but I don't derive my happiness from my job or my company. If that makes me a juicer, so be it. Those who actually know me know that I call things how they are. I don't make things up to fit an agenda.

If you are unhappy here, you should go to an airline that will make you happy. (Spoiler alert: If you expect a company to make you happy, you're in for a lifetime of disappointment.) Plenty of airlines are hiring. The rest of us will stay here and work on fixing the things that need work.
I agree with this. Not perfect by any means, but things will get better. Until then, I will continue to enjoy the job and the pilots I fly with.

Well said. I believe I had close to the least amount of civilian hours in my class and also the youngest with ~5000 hours total time.

I interviewed in November with just under 5000TT and 1500TPIC it felt like many interviewing had similar time. Many did not necessarily have the TPIC but were long time 121 regional FOs

I recently interviewed as well and I agree with this. Long time regional pilots and a few gateways thrown into the mix.

"Things getting better" doesnt do it. It shows how weak this pilot group has acted. We need, and should demand, a contract that resembles legacy carriers. Im not saying Industry-leading, but Industry-standard should be demanded and that would be "Things getting MUCH better".
Wake up guys- its gonna get worse before it gets better.

Don't pee on their juicing parade. They are focused on the fun they have at work and are only slightly discomforted by the fact that we are compensated 30-40% below our peers and completely underestimating how long it's going to take until "things will get better".

Things MAY get better, but it will take a LONG time and frankly none of us know how much of the compensation gap will actually get closed.

Also, with pilots being in shorter supply going forward, and JetBlue being a narrow-body only airline with only a chance of a small token fleet of future wide-bodies and no pilot retirements, we ARE IN REAL DANGER OF HAVING TO REDUCE OUR FUTURE GROWTH RATE DUE TO NOT ATTRACTING ENOUGH PILOTS. Even with a new contract.

We will be slow growing with narrow body aircraft and no retirements. This is a very REAL future possibility for us!

Fair enough, but do we need to treat each other like bitter, angry jerks while all of this plays out? I am by far not a "juicer," but I WILL NOT let this nonsense ruin my health. I choose to be happy. If you have an issue with that, go be miserable somewhere else.

Agree.
This is getting very old. I don't think most guys just want to sit back and let things happen or are they happy with the pay difference. If that was true we wouldn't be in negotiations right now trying to fix that. You want some prospective go read the Spirit thread, they are not happy that we seem to be "plowing through " sections( their words) while they have been stuck. Are we Spirit? No Should this CBA be done? Yes. But please stop with the childish name calling because people don't hate JetBlue as much as you. It's not going to help you win an argument, it will most likely just lead to guys tuning you out.

Like you said it could be a long process and we need to work together not fight each other.

I'm frustrated, but not miserable. I've been there before, and you are correct, and I don't let it affect my health either.

But I don't like guys spreading false hope. This company has not shown that it is willing to spend money on us, and that is the only way we close the gigantic gap. None of us know how much of the gap will be closed or when, but indications aren't good on either question right now, so I'm not a fan of just saying "give it time, things will be great". No one knows that for sure, and that attitude only serves to give the company more time, whether intentional or not.
