Agree.
This is getting very old. I don't think most guys just want to sit back and let things happen or are they happy with the pay difference. If that was true we wouldn't be in negotiations right now trying to fix that. You want some prospective go read the Spirit thread, they are not happy that we seem to be "plowing through " sections( their words) while they have been stuck. Are we Spirit? No Should this CBA be done? Yes. But please stop with the childish name calling because people don't hate JetBlue as much as you. It's not going to help you win an argument, it will most likely just lead to guys tuning you out.
Like you said it could be a long process and we need to work together not fight each other.

And we are NOT plowing through ANY sections that cost money.
I also don't think having some of you guys painting JetBlue in a more flattering light than they deserve at a critical time like this or saying "just give it time, things are getting better/will be great" could ever be considered "working together".

I disagree Joe. I don't like guys spreading false hope, like you do whether you mean to or not. This company has not shown that it is willing to spend money on us, and that is the only way we close the gigantic gap. None of us know how much of the gap will be closed or when, but indications aren't good on either question right now, so I'm not a fan of just saying "give it time, things will be great". No one knows that for sure, and that attitude only serves to give the company more time, whether intentional or not.
And we are NOT plowing through ANY sections that cost money.

Good luck with your tactic whatever it is.
Also since you have a bit of a reading issue. Where did I say give it more time. I specifically said the CBA should already be done.
Also I said THE SPIRIT guys said we were "plowing through" and relative to ONLY them we are. But that does not mean much.
Look if people are holding on to anything because of my opinion they need help. It's my opinion just like yours and both together are worthless.
But do you honestly think things won't get better? If that was the case you are going to want that 2% back. I pay my 2% because I want things to get better and the only way is with a CBA
I have been totally honest here it is again.
JetBlue cares about MONEY
They are an East Coast airline
They fly narrow bodys
They have a young pilot group
We have almost no retirements for 10 years
All upgrades are based on growth(we know how that goes)
We are slowly working on our first CBA
And the care about MONEY
That is the current JetBlue, will it always be like that maybe but you should plan on what it is now.
I hope that is not spreading false hope.

On Monday, JetBlue said it was cutting its capacity growth, essentially slowing down how quickly it adds new seats. For some fast-growing companies, a slowdown in growth would worry Wall Street. But for JetBlue, it’s the kind of move that investors cheer. Its stock was up about 0.5% Monday on a relatively weak day for the stock market.
Airlines always have to balance growth with demand, and lately supply seems to be outpacing demand in some markets. New travel restrictions imposed by the Trump administration may also weigh on demand in the coming months. JetBlue already estimated surprisingly weak January numbers, and shares are down 13% this year. Investors worry that slowing demand and increasing competition will cause airlines to lower their fares, hurting earnings.
On Monday JetBlue said it will reduce its 2017 capacity growth to 5.5%-7.5% from a previous estimate of 6.5%-8.5%. Last year, the company grew capacity by 8.9%, after growing by 9.5% in 2015.
Raymond James analyst Savanthi Syth thinks the move “should positively impact earnings, particularly in the second half of 2017. We believe investors will view favorably the quick response by JetBlue.”
Syth also notes that the cuts will come on off-peak months and red-eye flights, and won’t impact the peak summer months. So, most travelers probably won’t notice it. But investors probably will.

Meanwhile they will use this an an excuse to maintain or lower status quo. It's takes a great deal of knowledge and tact to trick and steal from employees. They have become rather adept at this little game.

This. Bye-bye SMF-BOS, look for a 10th-daily JFK-STI with a 0129 departure time in its place. 😕 Also, in all seriousness, don't be surprised to see some N5xxJB jets go away if they really need to cut capacity growth. Good thing we're paid A320 "family" rates.

I'm frustrated, but not miserable. I've been there before, and you are correct, and I don't let it affect my health either.
But I don't like guys spreading false hope.

What I'm suggesting has nothing to do with false hope. It actually has nothing to do with any airline in particular. I choose to come to work, smile at my colleagues, tell a few jokes, open a few beers, watch a few sunrises/sunsets from my office window; and overall, try to be positive because I have an awesome wife and kids who happen to be in good health as of this moment, and that's what matters most. I would be this way AT ANY JOB. I don't care what the name of the company is, or what plane I fly. I am this way FOR ME and not for some facade or mission statement. If you can grasp this concept, it will help you still have control over your own happiness vs surrendering that control to any one given management. Otherwise, you are doomed to feel unhappy at any airline/job.
Yes. Happiness comes from within.
