Ok while that is true, so you don't yell at me.
I find only 100 airplanes on order to be funny. How many would you like us to order? Think wall st hates us now go order a ton of planes and watch them freak. But yes you are right unless things really change it's going to be a slow upgrade. And as we all know orders can be cut at anytime.

Here is the thing as others have said you can only plan on the things you know now and what ATR and Bluedriver talk about is what we know now. But things always change. I am far more optimistic but that is me and only my opinion. I do think we have two options grow or be bought. I also think you will see a different order book soon with some type of long term solution for the 190 and if I was to guess some kind of trans Atlantic aircraft.

Just a speculation, from the recurrent last week. We know air canada parked or is parking the 190s. AA is getting rid of theirs basically leaving us as the last 190 operator in north america. I know some of the parts are interchangeable with the 170/175 but many are not. Expensive parts like engines. It could get very expensive to operate that in the near future. We own 30 and lease 30. IMO, the 190 may be on a short life line.
Don't flame me now! I've been a 190 guy since the beginning and like the plane. Just repeating logic. ...which if it's logical will never happen in airline worlds!

I agree that a new type will be needed for the future to fill the role.
Right now the Brazilians and Embraer aren't too happy with Bombardier and the Canadian government. I don't think Embraer wants to lose a big North American customer to Bombardier, so that may play a part in determining the future of the RJ.
As for no orders beyond 2023, that's quite a ways off and is getting close to the time a replacement for the 737 and 320 is expected to be introduced. I'm sure you could convert current orders whenever a new type is introduced, but jetblue is the company that places 320 orders knowing they'll concert them to 321s to keep the down payments lower.
A lot of the 320s that are being refreshed will be getting ready for retirement during the middle of the next decade. Mandatory retirements start to increase steadily around that time as well. It will be an interesting time if jetblue is still around then.
Just some random thoughts for a Tuesday afternoon.

Yes. And I heard we will turn in the leases and keep the owned ones. That's 2nd or 3rd hand info though. And anyone who actually knows is likely on an NDA and wouldn't be flapping their mouths about it. Just like most rumors on these boards I don't believe any until it's in an official email or in some cases it actually takes place.

With other operators ditching the 190, wouldn't it be pretty cheap to pick up some used airframes right now?
In any case, seems we can't afford to lose 30 planes in a few years with no replacement order on the books.
