With what appear to be then tightest COVID travel restrictions in the country? Roger.

moderna CEO said covid is here to stay (albeit: lower levels) but when does governor cuomo allow people to travel freely like say Georgia which “there are no travel restrictions to, from or within Georgia” which would explain why it is much busier than JFK. Let’s look at another example. FL, “no travel restrictions in place”.. been to FLL lately? Much different than JFK.

So when does govenor cuomo say hey everyone is free to travel. I won’t fine you. I won’t make you take a test then quarantine for 3 days then take another test? If covid is here to stay forever like the CEO of one the the vaccines you’re likely to get says it will.. what’s the cut off? When 100 people a day have it? When 1 person a day has it? When is that? Next year? Next month? A decade? You and I have no clue.

I’m not saying that we won’t be back to “normal” like everyone says, but I also thought like most covid would be gone by now and we would be making money again. So I’m sorry that you see major growth out of NYC and I do not. Given what is happening all over the world today, it’s not a hard to believe that travel to and from NYC could be severely depressed for years to come, or better yet depressed enough to
limit growth.

so if you think that’s laughable. Ok. Not offended. I’m not saying leave NYC. Maybe focusing else where may be advantageous for the security of JetBlue and yours an my job.

Perhaps you missed that Cuomo is now saying we need to end lockdowns. He isn’t (that) dumb. It was a calculated political move. He knew businesses and residents were fleeing. He knew he was bankrupting the city and state. But he didn’t dare agree with what Trump wanted because...politics. Now that the election is over, he can go back to trying to undo the mess he made in NY. Some of the movement out will be permanent. Others will come back, or someone else will replace those who left. People (even most who left in the last year) will still travel to NY to visit friends, family, and for business. Short term NYC prospects aren’t great. Medium and long term? I think leaving would be foolish. That said we do need to focus elsewhere as well, which I think we are starting to do with RDU and LAX. A few more would be nice as well.

I haven’t watched the news in months (much happier for it), but I also heard Cuomo wants NY to open and get things going. DeBlasio is a different story; he’s the most incompetent mayor NYC has ever had and seems hell bent on ruining that city.

COVID-19 becoming an endemic in the future shouldn’t be a surprise, very rarely do viruses just disappear off the face of the earth. The fact that scientists, or the Moderna CEO, have to say that just means the public is misinformed. Once mass vaccinations/heard immunity sets in, it’ll resemble more like the common cold or seasonal flu. So at that point you take common sense precautions like you would do anyway. Someone sneezes and then tries to shake your hand sort of thing.

that's the truth. My daughter lives in NYC and I once did and everyone her and I know, everyone, is leaving. Since this happend people saw that there is no reason to live in the city when you cant do anything. The unreal expense and taxes aren't worth it. Plus most went to CT or MA to get away when it was bad and saw what a different life they could have outside of the city. Thosse who can are leaving and I doubt they will come back. That's not to say others wont fill the void but there will be a big hit to the economy for a few years and they will try to tax their way out of it slowing the recovery even more.
I travel through LGA several times a month and it is a ghost town.

Well considering they (NYC, LIC, and NY State) are calling for another huge tax increase, to cover their huge COVID spending increase, a move of the corporate headquarters to Tennessee or Florida may make sense.
