I’ll just post what they said recently during the leadership luncheon in recurrent. They said they need every single 190 to cover the increased flying to make this deal work. I joking responded, “Scranton then?” The retort was, “You’re not far off.”
While we’re making demands, can we get pizza back instead of sandwiches?

The current economic landscape = no leverage to ask for gains that cost the company much right now.
Holding the keys to an approval for CBA relief that THEY requested: leverage for zero/low/future cost items.
Cost of item that we (well, some of us) want in exchange: free right now and anytime they aren’t making money.
When we are in section 6 negotiations next, what possible leverage do you think we would have to make any gains, especially with regards to PS? Do you think the company will be even mildly willing to entertain PS in the future when they are making money? (Hint: no. Not at all. Zero chance).

It saddens me some people don’t grasp what Copy is saying. To me, it’s blatantly obvious.
This is business. This is how business works. PS isn’t asking for something that will hinder the company or thwart their/our efforts at building a great airline and keeping this ship afloat. It is a zero cost item and does not affect short term cash burn, which is of utmost concern. This is about rewarding CMs in good times, because of their actions and sacrifices in bad times. I’m more than happy to SE taxi, fly efficient altitudes, help where I can to see JB succeed.
However, asking for a concession, and in return offering 2% and a FLICA waiting room? To me, it’s underwhelming. What some don’t quite understand is that the company isn’t offering furlough protection as part of this deal. Furlough protection happens because of the deal. It’s just packaged and sold a different way.
I don’t have all the facts. And I don’t have the language. And I’m generally happy with most of what our union and our company have accomplished in the last 12 months under these wild circumstances. I am, however, on Team Copy.

I’ll try to break it down so even the dense can “get” it.

You know the future? You know that the next time we negotiate section 6 that it won’t change? You know that for 100% certain? Do you know when the company will be profitable? Do you know when the covid is gone? It’s amazing how dense we are and how incredibly smart you are. (Just not smart enough to know the 220 captain bid number).
