On another thread (A220) somebody posted that the JB pilot’s wives FB page said we have a new hire class scheduled? I find this hard to believe.

It must be true. Everyone knows that the first place to find out what's about to happen strategically at B6 is the wives FB page. 100% accurate.

-Caveat: I guess I could see a scenario where increased bookings early next year, the 220/Europe flying coming online and the AA code share being approved might require a forecast of hiring late next spring, but I'm doubtful. Hope I'm wrong.

Do most of the JBU instructors live in/around MCO, or is it possible to commute?

I sat next to a JetBlue instructor commuter on my way to MCO one night, so at least one does. I’m not at B6 though, not sure how common that is

I would say none commute. If they do, they are adjunct. It’s essentially 3-6 day trips a week and they wouldn’t cover lodging if you’re full time school house.

Most are local but there are a handful that do commute. One guy even drives down from Georgia.

I've had at least two adjunct instructors who commute. And I spoke to one guy who was full time and rented an apartment for a while. But he's back home and either not instructing or doing adjunct now.

I know a few who are adjunct but pretty much all they do is instruct. Each of them commute.

We keep adding flights daily. Things are dropping in open time all through the day. That’s somewhat encouraging, given the rate of Covid infections currently. Now, actually being able to pick up any open time is a different story🙄. At this point, there is no question in my mind that people have some artificial advantage to get these trips. No F’ing way this is on the up and up. I honestly can’t believe this sh!t forsaken system has been going on for so long.
