You should be able to leave the money you have with TRP in your TRP account after we separate. There is usually a specific value they will require to leave it. My last company was $50k.

I had empower at the regional I worked for running our 401k. All I can say is everyone is about to find out how good we had it.

They leave you on hold for 30 min at a time to talk to someone in some Asian country reading a script (feel good about your nest egg yet?). Emails are never responded to. Just look them up on Yelp or any other site that reviews them and you'll get the point.

I emailed the union and gave my $.02 and experience when I found out about it. No response or reply unsurprisingly.

I talked on the phone with the dude who runs EZTracker401k.com today. . .had to ask him some questions about his latest newsletter. At the end of the conversation, I told him that JB was switching to Empower from TRP in the middle of 2017. . .there was a long pause on his end and an "Oh, no. . ." was muttered. He then said, "Just so you know, the only reason that they are doing this is to save money. There is a huge drop off in customer service and options to those that are operating the jets." I realize that we are pretty much ****ing up a rope by complaining, not much we can do. I guess that is what makes it suck even more.

If this company is as bad as everyone says it is, and no doubt that it is, we'll have to negotiate a return to TRowe Price or similar company. This is gambling with our future to save what I'm sure, absolutely positive, amounts to a few dollars saved per pilot for JetBlue.

Unsurprisingly you have time to come on here and complain yet not enough time to read your email. You wrote this post on 10/27 and the topic was clearly addressed in the 10/26 B6 ALPA committee update email.

There's a small thread on bogleheads.org about Empower. No one on there really has anything bad to say about them, for what it's worth. Who knows, maybe it will be a good move for us. I like T Rowe Price but I see no cause for panic yet; let's wait and see what they have to offer.
