Twice. Once in FLL, once in JFK. One in uniform, one in street clothes. Neither a check airman. One wanted the TVs on so reset them and the wifi from the cockpit. The other wanted the perfect temp. And while up there figured he spin the IRs and transfer from external to APU.

Yeah I would have a real problem with that.

Funny thing is pull that on the guys who did that to you and they would go crazy.

Wow

In the summer I require the temp exactly between 65 and 67.

In winter between 70 and 72.

Outside those limits I complain.

Or my favorite - the non rev senior CA in the back that waits for MY (sorry Whitehammer) CA to go to the lav (while boarding) then comes up and starts throwing switches. Yeah, I'm typed I got this. What do you need? Are you on the release? We'll ask you to sit in the jumpseat and move the thrust levers for us if we lose all hydraulics and have no flight controls. Until then could you put the temp switch back where it was and go sit down?
That's an instant prostans call. if not the CPO. not acceptable.

Agreed. ProStans for sure. They can involve a CP if he is not responsive to guidance..

However, when I commute, I will help only after all the paying customers have deplaned. I am a patient person and I will sit and wait. (Oh, and don't forget about the old lady in 2A that also paid and is waiting for her wheelchair). Without the customers in the back, we will all be out of a job.. Safety first and stay professional my friends.
Seems like this thread hijacked from what the original OP was complaining about. I agree with you, I do NOT clean while on duty as the FOM specifically states its not one of our duties (although requested). If it's on duty and i'm feeling helpful, it's not until the pax are off.

However, I'm on 8-12 company flights a week commuting, and will put on gloves in that situation. I don't understand all the pushback in that regard. It's the company's policy for non revs and they can set it as they see fit.

8-12 flights a week commuting? That's nuts. Do you do a 2 leg commute to a day trip every other day?

Had a bonehead do the same thing. Next thing he knew, he was staring at us pushing back from the gate, with his hands and nose pasted to the window with tears welling in his eyes. I guess tuition does come at a steep price

4 trips a month = 4 flight to work and 4 flights home. Sometimes I get a crap schedule and it's broken up more.
