I had better food and choices at Lackand AFB in 1988! When I was at the Lodge they rolled over the same uneaten chicken two nights in a row. I cook/grill quite a bit and know my food prep. I called them on it and they denied it but there's NO way it was fresh the second night.

Night 1 Baked chicken
Night 2 BBQ chicken (add sauce)
Night 3 shredded chicken tacos (shred the chicken)
Night 4 BBQ chicken enchiladas (wrap in tortillas and bake)
Step 6.......Collect underwear
Step 5......profit

Same chicken.

I second this. Pay is woefully inadequate (30-40% less than our peers), work rules are sub par (10 hour 3-days??), and disrespect for pilots is unmatched elsewhere in the industry. Focus your efforts elsewhere unless your dream is to be an aircraft cabin cleaner who happens to fly the planes.

Preferential interview if you can say, "don't worry, just leave your filthy refuse in the seat pocket and on the floor. I'm a pilot and I'll pick it up" in Spanish.

Spot on. One morning I asked the "chef" (I mean line cook) if he could cook me a fresh egg. I said, yesterday I saw someone with an egg sandwich. Oh, that was the special yesterday. Today I can only give you the "scrambled eggs" on the line. You mean the powered ones? The congealed ones? The ones that came out of a factory in Jersey and not an actual chicken? Yes. I'm gonna pass thanks.

I want to see a before and after photo and diagnostics on someone that eats the "special" every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during 6 weeks of initial. Like Morgan Spurlock in Supersize. You would have to skip breakfast and eat a salad everyday for lunch and dinner to retain your medical!

I think The Lodge is fine for recurrent and convenient if you get the midnight or 3am sims during new hire training and just have to walk next door, but after 2 weeks in that place you are just bluejuiced out and need to GTFO! Luckily a lot of us had cars and we went off campus quite a bit, especially those last 2 weeks, I think we ate more off campus than the cafeteria.

Keep the $26/day, bring back training pay to what it was, pay new hires the per diem and put them in a hotel!
