I have done this on numerous occasions when I was looking for a new home. It seems that if the price to / from your resident airport is less or close to your request they don't mind. They did refuse me once only because the price was $200+ more that day than going to my resident airport..

The two aircraft are the 747-400 and the 747-8 but they are a common type rating ; B-747-4
