Default Split Sched at K4?

Great info above. Thanks! How often is the 16 days run as a split schedule? Is that an available bid or is it random as well?

I really wish people would stop using this terminology. We do not “owe” the company 16 days per month, or any days for that matter. The MAXIMUM number of days they may schedule us to work is 16 days. If we had a more capable system in building 1 (and perhaps a lack of a certain person there, or people), we could have schedules that were less than 16 days a month, month after month and year after year.

What, and spoil all the joy of:
"Oh look, another R2 tomorrow." he thought, waking up for his 1n7 on the third morning in the same hotel room.

The answer is as it always is at Kalitta. Sometimes.

Sometimes there are split lines in the bid package and sometimes there are none. Sometimes those split lines amount to ten or more. (which would be 20 or more for FO's as most lines require an IRP) Sometimes the split lines might amount to 1-5 out of the available lines.

I think the answer you are searching for is can you expect to be gone 16+1 days every month and the answer is probably yes 95% of the bid periods. If that is undoable for you OR your significant other, business, elderly parents, children or other reason you probably don't want to work at Kalitta or any of the other ACMI carriers discussed on these forums.

Thanks for response. Exactly what I want... retired USMC; wife cannot stand to have me home any longer than two week blocks anyway . Waiting for HR call back .... hoping it’s not too much longer!

Me to my wife: "I will be gone for 16 days straight if I go to K4."
Wife: "And the downside to that is..."

Retired Air Force.
My Wife every month at about day 12: “Are there any overtime trips you can take?”

Just demand that Jodie replace the beer in the fridge I guess...🙄

Default Interviews, Class Dates, Attrition, etc.

Has anyone been interviewed recently? Phone call or in-person? Could you say when (eg. Late November or early December)? Does anyone know of any upcoming class dates?

It sounds like there's not much attrition at K4. ALPA said "1-2. . . every couple of months." Anyone care to comment on attrition? Growth? The next 6 months? Year? With the 777 coming online, I was under the impression that hiring was really going to ramp up this year.

How about ETOPS certification for the 76? Any updates?

Washout rate in training?

I know most of these questions are open to interpretation / speculation, but any and everything is appreciated! I was trying to think of things that hadn't been asked in a while. Really hoping to get a callback soon.
