Commuting, as in non-reving? We don't do that here, we have a paid for ticket in hand, and plenty of time off between trips usually. Picking up OT here was the equivelent of money growing on trees free for the picking. I patiently await for it to return.

No I mean where I currently work I don't pick up OT because I have to nonrev to do it typically. At Kalitta, I live in CVG so picking up and out and back here and there would be awesome compared to what I do now. Even in general it would just be nice I think to drive to work .. lol .. I recently had a couple weeks off and kept thinking to myself "at kalitta this would be a usual thing .. it feels nice!"

Well, nice thing about CVG is that all fleets go through there, doesn't matter which airplane you get.

OT just doesn’t buy you much on the 76 because of leg length. You get 4 hours or flight timex1.5 whichever is greater for each OT day. So say you only fly CVG-ORD-CVG. That’s only a couple hours block total, so 4 would pay more. You burned a home day for about 400 bucks at first year FO pay.

It’s much more lucrative if you can grab something like CVG-RJGG for 14 hours block x 1.5. Now you lost a day, but gained around $2100 as a first year FO. That’s why you don’t hear much about 76 OT.

uber/lyft, can't think of any other transport to get you there.

IF the plane is parked at ICC or the DHL facility and IF you feel like channelling your inner cheapskate you can hop the "G" bus and ride it to the Metro green line station on the corner of Aviation Blvd. and Imperial Highway and hoof it. Its about a five minute walk. If the plane is at that cargo facility west of the FedEx ramp, than Uber or Lyft is your best bet.

Back when the last contract was law of the land, still took two months from when I handed in my resume in person at a job fair until getting a phone call.

Thanks, that seems to still be the norm.
