I know of some cases where instructors flew as FO's for their former students. Then at my eventual career airline, some of chief pilots former underlings (I was one of the former underlings) recommended them for hire.

For my part, I haven't met many people with a "too good for this place" mentality in my relatively short time here at K4, and I wouldn't read too far into anyone's unhappy forum posts. There are certain... let us say "inconveniences" that are more common here than other places I've worked, and some personalities simply don't handle them as happily as others do. I would just point out that hiring environments like the one we are in right now are rare and fleeting in this business, and anyone who isn't happy where they are ought to be hustling as hard as they can for that dream job.
Like a lot of people I've met, I'm waiting to see what the next contract looks like before I decide whether to put myself in the lifer column. There does seem to be some consensus on the line on what shortcomings are expected to be addressed in this next cycle, and others that may be a longer fight. APC, of course, is not the venue for a drawn-out discussion of those matters. Suffice it to say that as happy as most of us are, there are improvements that should be made, and pointing them out in no way trivializes the hard work that went into making K4 the place it is now.

My comments/observations are unfortunately not based on his forum post but rather in person interactions.
Completely agree, but you can do that without bashing where you are at or more importantly.... the people who ARE happy there.
His comments were not pointing out improvements that need to be made, rather they were ridiculing someone for being proud that their company reaches out proactively to assist in times of usual circumstances. Further, he likened being happy at K4 to being a prisoner who has been befriended by his capture. There was nothing productive about his statement with regard to improvements.

Yeah. If you don't want that double-breasted jacket and a hat super glued to your head the only logical conclusion is you have Stockholm Syndrome.
Some of us want more than Jackson, Mississippi turns and a white picket fence in ATL.

FRNTOFWAVE is probably in the group that feels they can only get the respect they believe they deserve by wearing an official looking hat.

There is a chance that your whale hunt will come up empty. You do have a chance if hired soon of bagging a 777 or 767.

Get an internal recommendation from a pilot/employee on property already. They just changed how internal recommendations are handled, so go for that!
