I agree that growth and significant hiring aren't in the cards right now. I would assume 777 hiring will continue given the known and anticipated growth of the subfleet. We're currently looking at 3 (temporarily?) parked 74s over the next couple months, pretty much one-for-one with the next few 777s coming online. Definitely isn't sunshine and rainbows like the last couple years, but on the other hand, Jan/Feb are usually relatively slow with the Chinese New Year and usual post-peak hangover. Remains to be seen how much effect the recently signed trade deal will affect things. I would hope some positives, but definitely nothing drastic. I'm also fairly sure THY flying goes away permanently in April or so because the Turks are taking their flying 100% in-house (several recent 777F acquisitions). That's 3ish tails that need work post-April.

This is incorrect. I was literally in the Motorsports shop 10 minutes ago. They are getting ready to send 2 dragsters and a funny car out to Pomona. Also, there are no planes getting parked at this time. Yes, the Turkish contract ceases at the end of March due to us being underbid by ACT. ACT has asked us for a line of credit in maintenance and parts, and Connie told them to pound sand, so they might not last long in Istanbul. Even if we don't get that flying back, Connie will find other work for the 74s.

The Kalitta Motorsports web site and Facebook page both state that Kalitta will field two top fuel cars and one funny car this coming season. Last year it was two top fuel cars and two funny cars. How can you state that this guys statement is false? 3 is less than 4 and means that the motors sports program has been shrunk by 25%. While I don't think the sky is falling that is not a small number.

No worries, man! I’m not saying the sky is falling, either, but I have always heard that we were ok as long as the race team was doing ok, and if they start cutting back on racing, we need to be concerned. I really don’t think that’s the case as it’s more of a lack of a big sponsor for the 4th car.
