I was under the impression it was a 30 day, not 60 day cooling off period. At least it was at my last job when we went on strike.
To answer an earlier question, at that same airline, the guys on probation/in training walked the line with the rest of us, and didn't lose their jobs.

First off, you guys deserve so much better...It's a complete and damn shame it's come to this.
Second, serious question here. I'm in the pool looking at a projected Dec or Jan class date though I haven't been told either way. If you guys strike when I'm in training how does that work?
Let me start with I can't stand scabs and would never want to do anything that negatively effects your guys progression. However, if I'm in training and a strike occurs do I walk off of training? Would I then get fired? Would I then hopefully get my job back after all the dust settles? I've heard of guys holding the line on probation and getting canned and then getting their jobs back after the dust settles, is the same true when in training?

Just wait a few days. This is going to play out quickly one way or the other and you will be in a much better position to decide. Probationary/trainee pilots are often threatened or fired by companies during strikes but unions normally include getting any collateral damage back to work before the new contract is signed.

If they don't release you after this then what's the point of having that option? I do get that they might still not release you. This is such BS.

We got an email from Mgmt today telling us they did not rescind they're agreement and that there is just one standing item open and they want to go to arbitration over it. Clearly they have a fundamental understanding of how this works. Our TA is a package deal. All or nothing.
Last sentence of the email said they still intend to get this final by 12/1. They were already banking on this passing and have already changed our healthcare to reflect the new TA. ha. Another status quo violation coming.
Its gonna be a hard fight to the end, my union has my full support.

The agreement in principal was reached with the understanding that the duty day limits in dispute would be arbitrated. I don't see how this changes anything, duty limits are still to be arbitrated. Basic, Augmented, or otherwise, nothing was agreed on for the AIP.
